Challenges of Teaching the Copy and Paste Generationwith Kirsti DyerThu, 03/11/2010 - 12:00pm - 1:00pm (Pacific Time) Our students have grown up in a world where copy and past has always been available to them for writing essays and papers. Are students destined to copy, paste and plagiarize because they are growing up in the copy and paste generation? Do instructors need to be doing a better job of educating students about what is legitimate writing and what is plagiarism?
Come to the lunch-time seminar to discover common examples of plagiarism, issues with copy and pasting in online assignments, how copy and pasting can contribute to academic dishonesty, some of the consequences of copy and pasting, and what can be done to help keep the copy and paste generation honest students.
