With Microsoft Web Apps and Mobile, Office 2010 gives you the freedom to access the applications using the web and portable devices.   Collaborate synchronously and stay connected to your files across town or around the world. And even broadcast your presentations to a remote audience. 
 
In this workshop, you’ll explore what’s new and learn tips and tricks for Microsoft Office 2010. By the end of this 3-day hands-on workshop, you’ll have acquired skills to make your everyday computing tasks easier, visually compelling and accessible to the world.
 
Audience
This workshop is intended for faculty and staff who want to be more productive with MS Office products, while learning about the latest changes in Office 2010.
 
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
  • Explore the new and enhanced MS Office 2010 environment
  • Learn the major updates in Office 2010 and how they relate to previous Office versions
  • Use the ribbon/ Backstage to create, format, and enhance documents in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote
  • Implement time-saving shortcuts by using KeyTips, Quick Styles, Themes and Built-In Building Blocks
  • Use, edit and create time-saving templates
  • Learn to set basic properties in Excel to help organize and identify documents
  • Apply special character attributes and cell styles in Excel
  • Make the most of the contextual tabs and live preview features in Office 2010
  • Enhance presentations with custom layouts, SmartArt, Quick Styles, Themes, and image editing
  • Create and share an Office 2010 project.
Prerequisites
To be successful in this workshop, you need to have basic computer skills, and at least some experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
