Portfolio Use in Certification Program

One of the new features of the revised @One Certification Program will be the use of ePortfoilios. Each person participating in the Certification Program will be given their own ePortofolio. We will be using the open-source platform, Mahara for this purpose. Mahara will be integrated with @One's Moodle platform to make the user experience as seamless as possible. @One is currently developing templates to be used by participants in the Certification Program. Our vision is that at the end of the program, each participant will have a portfolio that is theirs that reflects the learning and outcomes of the program. In addition, participants will be able to add any artifacts that they wish that further documents their competencies in online instruction. Since the portfolio is the user's own, he or she can decide who is allowed to view it and how it should be used professionally or personally.

If you have any ideas, suggestions or reactions to our planned use of Mahara portfolios, we would like to hear from you.
