Courses like this one (Building Online Community with Social Media) are excellent, efficient, and effective. What would really be helpful would be follow-up courses, and in this case, I think that would be at least two more. There are so many approaches developing in the range of social media, and it is not possible to cover enough of what technologies students are already using in just one four-week period. Given Michelle's well-constructed and executed course, another four-eight weeks studying with her would be a good investment for both her students and their students.
I enrolled in this class because I am convinced of the importance and increasing relevance of social networks and social media in education of the near future. I learned of and about technologies with which I was not familiar and how they can enhance the learning process for the millennial student.
I think this is one of the most significant topics that @ONE should promote and develop.

It took me awhile to discover this. Is it too late? Just in case:
I second the motion for BOCSM the sequel. There was so much to learn in that class. The content and Michelle PB, brought the online classroom to life and provided a platform for relationship building more than any class I ever took. The energy was amazing, and seems key to online teaching & learning for the future, lower dropout rate, and, I'm not sure about this - but, the more students experience themselves as an integral part of a community, the less likely they are to cheat.
More BOCSM training would be a contribution!

This is an excellent comment and exactly what we need and are looking for. We will discuss this with the @One facilitators and develop a plan for new courses that are follow-ons to our current courses. We will do this where it is obvious that there is more that could be taught as well as where you or @One participants tell us there is a need and interest.
