Add Fun and Interest to Teaching Online with Audio Clips

Looking for ways to make your course more interesting for your students? Reading long sections of text can be difficult and boring for online students. Since I teach writing online, this problem was particularly salient for me. Creating podcasts was not yet in the picture for me, so I introduced online audio clips from NPR (National Public Radio), the New York Times, and other sites. For example, my students could listen to interviews with literary figures and hear analytical commentary on current events.
